Complete Health Management at Cooloola Acupuncture
Clinic in Gympie is Bruce Viner. Bruce is fully trained in Traditional
Chinese medicine, Naturopathy and Herbalism with a Bachelor of Health
Science in Australia. Here is his story...
In 1986 I returned from a trip to Africa. I became
very ill and was told I had contracted hepatitis. Many Doctors and
blood tests later, the only recommendations I received were to rest,
have more rest and to eat a fat free diet. I
was frustrated and not getting any positive answers from the orthodox
system.
I had learned from my previous college
animal husbandry education that by changing the of cattle's nutrition
we could improve their health, but no doctor was able to share similar
information about this, with me. After time it was suggested that I
try acupuncture. This all seemed quite scary but I was fascinated that
the placing of fine needles in my feet could lead to a healing for
my liver. How and why was this so? It was explained to me how the liver
was injured and that I should eat in a different way. After being taught
diet therapy for the condition, I was given new health and vitality
from just a couple of treatments. I was able to get about and work
normally with none of the symptoms of liver problems. I no longer had
hepatitis.
I was still very inquisitive about how and
why this worked. A few years later I had to know more so I decided
to put my farming agricultural career on hold. In 1995, I left the
family cattle property to go to Brisbane and study Traditional Chinese
Medicine, Acupuncture and Naturopathy. For the next four years, the
more I was taught the more I wanted to know. I pushed myself to study
and learn as much as I could in the field of Natural medicine. I filtered
and sifted through many techniques and teachings, eventually developing
my own style which I currently use in my practice.
Immediately after finishing my formal studies
in Brisbane, I was fortunate enough to visit China. I was sponsored
by my Chinese Professor, Lecturer Dr Jiang Man to attend her Chinese
teaching hospitals in the city of Nanning in Guangxi, China. Here,
I was taken under the wings of several beautiful Chinese Acupuncture
Doctors who taught and shared lots of experience with me.
In 1999, I graduated with Honours from the
Australian College of Natural Medicine with a Degree of Advanced Health
Science in Acupuncture. Later, that year, I set up my own clinic, Cooloola
Acupuncture Clinic, in Nash Street Gympie, where it still continues
to grow with experience each day. I returned to live back on the cattle
property which gives me my time out and also keeps me in touch with
nature. Even the odd cow and working dog gets an acupuncture treatment
when required and the dogs love a Bowen therapy treatment.
In 2005, I had extra clinical experience
in Brisbane, working with a fellow college graduate, Andrew Orr, a
specialist at addressing fertility and conception protocols using Traditional
Chinese medicine. At this time I decided a new business name was needed
to cover the additional aspects of alternative medicine being introduced,
hence the name, Complete Heath Management. I am more than an acupuncturist,
naturopath and herbalist. I am a complete health consultant who has
the best interests of the patient in mind, providing a compassionate,
nurturing wholistic approach to healing.
